Polyester resin
Polyester resin coating
Polyester coating is ideal for renovating swimming pools.
Independent of the support, the resin forms a real shell which ensures perfect watertightness of your swimming pool.
Leaks and cracks problems are solved!
Micro-cracks and fissures, the result of time, disappear after treatment of your swimming pool or pond.
Polyester waterproofing therefore provides maximum guarantee.
We invite you to look at the comparison table on the different types of swimming pool. The use of polyester resin occurs within the framework of a renovation, but also, for a new concrete swimming pool.
The use of polyester resin
Renovating a swimming pool is not an easy and cheap task. However, there is an economical and effective solution: polyester resin.
It is a technique derived from the construction of boat hulls.
In a boat you keep water out. In a swimming pool you keep it out.
On an existing support in poor condition, the use of resin makes your swimming pool waterproof again, in addition, the polyester allows you to embellish it and transform it according to your wishes!!
Polyester resin is suitable for all types of materials: concrete, stone, wood, metal, etc.
This technique also allows for shorter construction times. The restoration of a classic 10 x 5 m swimming pool only takes a week at most.
Furthermore, the technique can also be applied to new supports, just after the structural work for example.
Finally, the technique allows you to adapt to all pool shapes, from right angles to curves. You can enlarge your pool, create new shapes, raise a bottom...
Implementation
Polyester comes in the form of a semi-thick resin. It is applied with a roller to fiberglass previously unrolled on the support. Several layers of resin are then applied under strict implementation conditions. This is why we travel to establish a quote and specifications according to the technical difficulties encountered.
The main stages of renovation in polyester resin
- Sanding and removal of old paint / surface rectification
- Preparation of the hooks for holding the fiber
- Impregnation of concrete with pure resin (rectify the porosity of the concrete or the surface)
- Stratum, that is to say the laying of fiberglass
- First pure resin glaze
- Cleanliness and rectification sanding to remove impurities, bubbles, chips, etc.
- Second gel-coat glazing
- Preparation and cleaning for applying the color
- Applying the topcoat (color)
- Possible touch-ups and watering 4 to 7 days later depending on the weather.
